||Position Title: Database Administrator
Location: Salisbury, NC or Scarborough, Maine
Basic Function / General Summary
Develops database systems that are more complex with full competency (primarily SQL Server). Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Analyzes, designs, creates and implements more complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security. Designs more complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas. Liaises with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions. Reviews systems under development and related documentation. May coordinate activities of the project team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs. Typically requires three to five years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.

General Profile – BS degree in computer science or related. 3-5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in a large scale enterprise. Willingness to learn and be challenged and a desire to begin leading larger database administration roles.
Technical Expertise – Experience in setting up and administering SQL Server databases. Experience in performance tuning and offering suggestions to data modelers and application developers. Experience with SQL Server clustering, supporting high availability, backup and recovery. SQL Server 2008R2 at a minimum. SQL Server 2012 experience is a plus. T-SQL experience.
