||Job Title: PT Seafood Associate - Food Lion
Provide quality customer service to our customers in the Seafood Department. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of proper seafood conditions. Responsible for reading, understanding, and following all guidelines in the Market Standard Practice Manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practices. Provide friendly, courteous and prompt customer service. Engage and interact with customers to create a positive shopping experience. Provide proper fillet, packaging and traying of all special orders. Perform proper and safe use of all equipment including maintenance and daily sanitation of equipment. Perform proper stocking, pricing/labeling and rotation of fresh fish, shell fish and pre-cooked seafood items. Maintain proper case merchandising and allocation and set-up of ice beds. Find more efficient ways to do the job and seek to reduce costs and improve labor productivity. Continually review current Standard Practices to ensure proper Standard Practice execution. Understand and follow Food Safety guidelines and procedures. Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices. Ability to safely operate all Seafood Department equipment including steamer, knife, wrapper, slicer and ice machine.
Ability to reach, stoop, bend and lift as needed to stock or pull product for processing.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to withstand a working environment of 45°F or less for long periods of time.
Ability to weigh, price, label, organize, rotate and identity all varieties of seafood carried by Food Lion.
Ability to have a working knowledge of seafood preparation in order to operate the steamer and help customers with preparation of their seafood selection.
Ability to meet production standards established by Food Lion.
Ability to promote the Seafood Department through in-store public announcements and suggestive selling.
Ability to complete Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Aid courses.
