Description Position Title: Regional Merchandising Specialist - Hannaford
Location: Albany, NY

Summary:
Support Banner Merchandising in regional execution of all merchandising programs with a primary emphasis on Center Store. Support and service retail operations through effective communication of department merchandising programs, procedures, and product information. Contribute to the achievement of company goals and objectives as part of the department leadership team and working with retail operations.

Responsibilities:
•Maintain effective communication with retail operations via: weekly merchandisers, seasonally focused communications, new program announcements, seasonal show communications, category planners/planograms, and standard practice manuals.
•Demonstrate strong management/leadership skills for the express purpose of leading change and speaking to the strategic purposes for various merchandising functions.
•Successful implementation of new merchandising programs and procedures.
•Update and maintain standard practice manuals.
•Inform and advise category managers and buyers regarding quality issues.
•Monitor industry trends in product packaging, equipment and systems. If necessary, design new fixtures to meet individual business unit needs.
•Review all new and remodeled store blueprints to ensure appropriate department layout.
•Contribute to the set up and successful merchandising of new stores and resets.
•Determine appropriate equipment and work proactive for department with consideration towards all government regulations, food safety, associate safety, and efficient productivity.
•Provide analytical support for the effective monitoring of all major programs relative to sales, margins, and shrink.
•Monitor and analyze competition through store visits and price checks.
•Maintain the company’s professional and ethical standards in the performance of responsibilities.
Requirements Preferred Qualifications:
•Store management experience.
•College graduate
•Buying experience
