Description Position Title - Evening Manager - Food Lion

Responsible for retail store operations during the evening hours making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality and presentation and the level of service offered to our customers. Ensure conditions involving security, safety, and food safety are consistently maintained at the highest levels.

•Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results for an assigned Food Lion store
•Serving as Manager on Duty, performing all of the responsibilities of the Store Manager when he or she is not present.
•Assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the entire store
•Serving as a model for customer service and other vital behaviors and instills this value in all associates
•Managing and developing associates to ensure adherence to Standard Practices
•Providing leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Food Lion’s
•Guiding Principles, Core Values and Vision
•Maximizing sales through excellent customer service and minimize shrink through proper utilization of Standard Practices
•Managing operation of assigned store and is responsible for providing direction and instruction to all store associates in the absence of the Store Manager.
•Ensuring aisle conditions and presentation are maintained.
•Monitoring shrink and ensuring that inventory and moneys are accounted for; provides coaching for associates to recognize and prevent losses.
•Understanding and utilize Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS).
•Ensuring store conditions, customer service and satisfaction, product quality, freshness, availability, variety and execution of all policies and procedures.
•Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations
•Ensuring that staffing schedules across departments meet the business needs
•Interacting constantly with associates; ensure associates understand Food Lion’s expectations and have the tools and training to be successful.
•Adhering to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
•Successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Aid courses
•Retail Associate Training and Development
Requirements Basic Qualifications:

•High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
•Department Manager Experience Required
•Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) Knowledge
•Broad Operational Knowledge
•Customer Oriented Market Knowledge
•Asset Utilization and Cost Control Knowledge

Skills and Abilities:

•Team Leadership

•Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
•Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 70 pounds.
•Ability to push or pull up to 2000 pounds using a pallet jack.

-Ability and availability to work evening shifts. Some weekends are required
